La mirabile struttura quattrocentesca era frequentata negli anni ‘20 da Gabriele d’Annunzio in visita alla Sua musa, l’affascinante marchesa Flavia Lefebvre, al tempo proprietaria del Castello. Si tramanda, infatti, che il Vate giungesse a Balsorano a bordo della Sua auto, la prima mai vista in paese, per soggiornarvi.

Il Castello, monumento Nazionale dal 1902, è immerso in un rigoglioso Parco di circa un ettaro ed ha struttura a pianta pentagonale irregolare, sviluppata su 4 livelli per circa 4.000 mq.

Già attrezzato per residenza turistico alberghiera, permeato di Storia e leggende, fu ristorante per molti anni e dispone di 35 camere di varie dimensioni, oltre al  Salone dei Cavalieri (con affreschi raffiguranti stemmi e blasoni dei vari proprietari Piccolomini), la Cappella per cerimonie, a navata unica e in stile 400ensco; la Sala delle armi, il pozzo della corte. Sono presenti anche la biblioteca, le  due piscine (una piccola) e le cucine e servizi, per una ricettività dalle grandi potenzialità e dal Fascino unico.

The Castle , a national monument since 1902, is nestled in a luxuriant park of about one hectare and has an irregular pentagonal plan structure, developed on 4 levels for around 4,000 square meters.
Already equipped for tourist residence hotel, perimeter of History and legends, it was a restaurant for many years and has 35 rooms of various sizes, in addition to the Salone dei Cavalieri (with frescoes representing coats of arms and blasons of the various owners Piccolomini), the Chapel for ceremonies, a unique nave and in the 400sco style; the Weapons room, the well of the courtyard.
